Change of Address

Requirements for attorney change of address:

An attorney whose mailing address, telephone or fax number has changed, he/she must change their address on the PACER system and shall timely file a Notice of Change of Address in every active case in which that attorney is the attorney of record [See Local Rule 1.3(d)]. If the attorney has no open cases, he/she must change their address on the PACER system only.

In Pacer when updating an address change:

If an attorney has changed law firms or agency and is not taking their pending cases to the new law firm or agency they must select "None" from the "Apply To" drop down menu.

If an attorney has changed law firms and is taking their pending cases to the new law firm they must select"Open Cases" from the "Apply To" drop down menu.

If an attorney's law firm address (only) has changed but not the firm name; and the attorney has never practiced at another firm they must select"All Cases" from the "Apply To" drop down menu.

Each Attorney is required to login into the PACER system using their own login and password to change their email address. Secondarily e-mail address management is done locally at ecf.nysd.uscourts.gov under Utilities > Maintain User Account.
