You can review your financial aid status, as well as pending requirements and any awards offered, in the Financial Aid and Scholarships module of the Goldmine student portal.

There are several factors that can impact your eligibility for financial aid:

Please keep in mind that financial aid is disbursed by semester.

After a student accepts a loan on Goldmine, they are no longer able to make changes to their loans online. A student must email the Office of Student Financial Aid and inform their advisor that they wish to make adjustments to their loan(s). The financial aid advisor will then make the requested changes.

Follow the instructions in Goldmine to submit the required documents. Most documents can be uploaded at financialaid.utep.edu/upload, though citizenship and certain immigration documents must be presented in person. Once submitted, the status of your documents will be updated in Goldmine in 3-5 business days.

You may only receive federal grants in one institution each semester. Please review the Concurrent Enrollment page for information about consortium agreements that allow students to receive financial aid at UTEP for enrollment at both UTEP and EPCC.

Financial aid is awarded assuming full-time enrollment but may be adjusted if you enroll less than full-time. Please review the Enrollment Level page for more information.

You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements to continue to be eligible for financial aid. Please review the Satisfactory Academic Progress page for detailed information on these requirements.

Loans are considered part of your financial aid award offer and all financial aid rules and regulations apply to federal and state loans also. You may still be eligible for a private loan.

SAP refers to academic requirements that students must meet by the end of every semester to continue to be eligible for financial aid. Students who don't meet requirements due to an extenuating circumstance may submit a SAP appeal.
